BETELGEUS brought STACKBOT 2.0 to iba 2025 in Düsseldorf (May 18–22), introducing the current generation of the palletising robot to the global bakery, confectionery, and snacks industry.
Held at Messe Düsseldorf with 985 exhibitors from 46 countries and over 49,000 visitors from 149 nations, iba is the world’s leading trade fair for the baking and confectionery industry — and the first major European stage for STACKBOT 2.0.
The redesigned platform brought a sharper focus on what production teams actually need:
- Compact footprint – for the narrow end-of-line spaces typical of bakery and confectionery lines
- No-code operation – pallet patterns set directly on the touchscreen, no programmer required
- Rapid deployment – installed and running in under an hour, no on-site engineering
- Adaptive gripping – for boxes, trays, and shrink-wrapped bundles common in bakery output
For visitors used to evaluating large palletising cells with multi-week commissioning timelines, STACKBOT 2.0 represented a different proposition: a system that fits where nothing else does, runs without specialists, and pays back in months.
Why iba mattered for STACKBOT:
The bakery and confectionery industry runs on tight margins, narrow floor plans, and shift-based labour. Manual palletising is widespread and increasingly difficult to staff. STACKBOT 2.0 is built for exactly this reality: small footprint, low disruption and operator-friendly.
The fair also confirmed something the BETELGEUS team already knew from the floor: the conversation about palletising automation has shifted. It’s no longer about whether to automate, but about how fast a system can be running without dedicated engineering resources.
