From 6 to 9 October 2026, BETELGEUS Robotics presented STACKBOT at MachTech & InnoTech Expo 2026 at Inter Expo Center in Sofia, the international exhibition for machines and industrial technologies. For us it was a home game: STACKBOT is designed, built and programmed in Bulgaria.
Visitors saw the complete standardized cell: a Doosan Robotics collaborative robot, our StackGrip gripper, the StackFeeder infeed conveyor with pneumatic FeedGate, two palletizing zones with positioning sensors, a 15.6-inch industrial HMI and an integrated control cabinet.
The part that drew the most questions was the software. It is developed in-house and runs on an industrial PC. Operators create boxes, pallets and stacking patterns directly on the HMI, with no robot programming, no teaching points and no motion sequences to write. Adding a new product or changing a pallet layout becomes a job for production staff, not for an integrator. A new OPC UA architecture connects STACKBOT to the customer’s ERP and MES systems.
Safety was the other big topic. STACKBOT meets PL e / Cat. 4 according to ISO 10218-2 and ISO 13855. The PRO versions add the StackGuard perimeter laser scanner with warning and stop zones, so people can work next to the cell safely.
MachTech was also a good moment to look back at a busy year: STACKBOT with FROMM Portugal in Porto in April, our own stand at interpack in Düsseldorf in May, and Warehouse. & Yard. in Birmingham with our UK partner I-Mark UK in June. Next stop: Vinitech-Sifel in Bordeaux, 1 to 3 December 2026.
